Coyote v Road Runner

Finally departing from our cozy hotel in Montana, we're headed towards Wyoming. Montana was rather uneventful, we avoided Yellowstone, upon being informed that the mountain pass just opened yesterday and there's still potential for snow on the road. My gut reaction was "So what?? It's Yellowstone and I want to ride it, no matter what!"

There's a (small) chance that I'll never grow up. After some serious talking to, a.k.a "WE ARE NOT RIDING THAT!", there was a swift process of overruled and shut down. The tame route it is...and my report about MT is appropriately short. Hello Wyoming!
I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised! We rode 2 mountain passes, which was inevitable and met the remainders of a few snow banks, encountered a sweet road construction which set us back about 30 minutes, while on the mountain, and continued on with canyon riding. (I'll update locations and images upon return)
The otherwise rolling hills of WY, the serene, tranquil landscape can capture a rider and make any soreness quickly become meaningless as your eyes are captured. Quaint little towns along the way round the picture up. Yes, there was more than one thought of becoming a rancher, having a horse, a 6 shooter and a dog that follows you while you're gathering your cattle.
Going straight from mountains to canyons, I can't tell you which rides better. The mountains with their impeccable views of sheer endless skies or the canyons with their massive walls and rivers off to your side.
(We took some images from both, we'll share when we get back.)
Making it past the canyons revealed some flat lands, with desert looking landscape, just to get us back into another mountain pass to arrive in Rock Springs, WY.
The arrival was briefly questioned by El Coyote. Seemingly out of nowhere, the furry bastards comes dashing across the highway, missing my front/rear tire narrowly, roughly estimated 5ft or less. A little swerving assisted him in staying alive and cost me yet another stuffed animal that I could have hung in my garage.
Every man needs a trophy, I figured I'm starting with "roadkill by yours truly". (Hope i didn't jinx myself for today's leg to St. George)
Departure from Rock Springs is T-15 in men's time, T-??? for the rest of ... nevermind that thought. ;)

We'll keep the rubber side down..
